SUMMARY JOB DESCRIPTION

Responsibilities include the selling of new and used vehicles to customers maintaining the highest standards of business ethics, customer satisfaction and dealer profitability.

New and/or used vehicle salespeople are required for Alberta new vehicle franchised dealerships. Previous experience is not necessarily required.

Applicants must be outgoing, demonstrate strong people skills, be good listeners and be able to communicate effectively with both customers and their fellow employees.
Automotive salespersons in Alberta are required to be licensed by the Alberta Motor Vehicle Industry Council (AMVIC) so must successfully complete a one day course specifically designed to explain provincial regulations that govern automotive businesses.
Previous sales experience is beneficial however key attributes are having a positive attitude, be able to determine and understand customers? requirements by listening and asking questions.
Applicants must maintain a professional appearance.
Applicants must have a valid drivers license and be able to demonstrate vehicles to customers (test drives) as well as deliver sold vehicles.
This will require an understanding of the vehicle operating features, warranty (if applicable) and required paperwork (i.e. bill of sale, etc.).
Applicants will be required to attend regular sales meetings and maintain a customer development and follow-up system that encourages repeat and referral business which contributes to a high level of customer satisfaction.
Applicants must keep abreast of new products, features and accessories and have a reasonable understanding of vehicle financing options available to customers.
Computer literacy would be beneficial and a good working knowledge of English (speaking, writing, reading & comprehension) is required.
Performs other tasks, based on management requirements and instructions (i.e. assist with vehicle displays, etc.)
Some evening shift work, including weekends may/will be required.

Franchised dealerships offer state-of-the-art, safe, well equipped facilities and Alberta dealerships? average wages are almost double the Alberta average wage (all industries).
