SUMMARY JOB DESCRIPTION

Journeyman and/or third or fourth year apprentice AST's required for new vehicle franchised dealerships in Alberta.

Specific duties and responsibilities will/may include, but are not limited to the following:

• Receive repair orders and perform work as outlined on the repair order with efficiency, safety and accuracy in accordance with dealership and factory standards
• Diagnose the cause of any malfunction and perform the repair in a timely manner.
• Communicate with the parts department to obtain needed parts and save/tag parts if the repair is under warranty or if requested by the customer.
• Examine/test drive vehicles to determine what repairs are required or if additional service work is required.
• Maintain timely accurate records of work performed per repair.
• Participate in factory sponsored training programs and keep current of all factory technical bulletins
• Maintain work and shop area in a neat and clean manner and care/account for any/all dealership owned tools and equipment at all times.
• Understand and follow all federal, provincial or municipal regulations as required.
• Ensure customer and/or dealer owned vehicles are kept clean.
• Oversees and approves the work completed by any apprentice assigned to him/her.
• A good working knowledge of English (speaking, writing, reading & comprehension) is required.
• Applicant's must have a valid driver's license and a good driving record.
• Applicants must provide their own set of basic automotive hand tools and tool storage cases and will have a good working knowledge of hand and power tools.
